Innovation potential

Development of a 3D digital library of real clinical models simulating with high accuracy a number of congenital heart diseases.

Development of algorithms for the automatic modeling of CT scans into 3D models.

Construction of a 3D printed library of personalized clinical cases using appropriate biocompatible materials to improve preoperative assessment and train new doctors.

Creation of a virtual and augmented reality environment with the aim of gaining surgical experience and developing pre-operative strategies.

The project 3D4KARDIA was implemented in the context of the Action RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE and co-financed by the European Union and national resources through the OP. Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship & Innovation (EPANEK).

The project started in November 2021 and is expected to be completed in November 2023.

Scientific coordinator is Dr. Konstantinos Votis from CERTH/ITI.
